Cosmo Jarvis - "Is The World Strange Or Am I Strange?"

Somewhere, there was bleeding. So aggressively suppressed, a series of idiosyncratic affairs can only be catapulted from within one and permeate through the slightest crevasse of the thickest of skin of another. And at the juncture of the latter stages of this record and the gathering of thoughts, there is an abundance of words that would, in no way, be appropriate descriptors of what you’ve just heard, and only one that would…genius.

The first go-around of “Is The World Strange or Am I Strange?” will make your head spin. Some of you may and should be absolutely offended by “Dave’s House,” but when your state of shock is cultivated and ready to be spoken, we will agree on this…very few artists have the story-telling ability to confuse the life out of you, require that your children to leave the room, and coerce you to devote your empathy to the same pirates who are the douchebags of everyone’s childhood storybooks, while demanding your respect by demonstrating how the hell it could all be compressed into song.

The coolest part of the package is that, yes, Cosmo Jarvis is a masterful poet, but the musicianship on this record is equally as captivating. If you can find a second to direct your attention to the melodies and away from the story itself, this record will be the staple in your playlist.

My name is Cosmo Jarvis. I am from Devon, in the U.K. I Make Music, Movies and Act. I am also an editor and sound designer. I write songs about anything and I try to keep the style of records I produce specific to the song itself. Rather than having a sound that works. I make my records at home and value the composition of parts for different instruments as much as the lyrical content of the song. Sometimes more so. I am by no means a professional on any instrument but if i have a musical idea that requires the services of a particular instrument I will find a way of making myself play the part on that instrument. It is all specific to the song. I taught myself gradually how to make records (using adobe audition 1.5). I draw inspiration for music from anything that seems like a good idea at the time. But it can be anything from people, places, films, dreams, fictional stories/situations, personal dilemma, emotion, questioning the human condition and shit like that.
